Food was good. I had a reservation for 3 people, and they do charge for this online. The waitress seemed super busy, short staffed to handle 5 tables. Make sure you look at the menu ahead of time so you can get your food faster.
100/10, If there was an option for more stars I would add them. Will be in my permanent rotation for years to come. I had this spot once about five years ago and have been trying to come back since and lord above it did not disappoint. Probably some of the best Hawaiian food if not Asian fusion food you can get anywhere in the city. The crab rangoons are a must! Frankly any of their appetizers on the fried side are AMAZING. The island nachos are also perfect for two or even as an entree. Best tip I can give you is to come HUNGRY the portions don’t mess around and kinda sneak up on you ESPECIALLY THE LOCO MOCO, you better be ready for that.
We came here for a dinner the place is fully themed! Definitely a good spot to hang. We tried island nachos, luau hawaiian plates, honey shrimp, and spicy seafood noodle soup. Our favorite was the island nachos but the other items shine far less.
We went on a Sunday morning. The food was SO good. It's so interesting to eat food you're familiar with, but with slightly variations. The best eggs I've ever had at a restaurant.
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed eating here. In fact this is probably one of our favorite restaurants we've found that excels in every aspect. The service was fast, yet still very patient when deciding to order because it's a pretty big menu. The interior is very beautiful and my girlfriend and I couldn't stop looking around and seeing all the details around us. The food was amazing, filled with lots of flavor and big portions. The drinks were also great and pleasantly eye appealing. Overall, zero complaints and definitely a must-go place in Chicago
TLDR: LOCO MOCO IS AWESOME (9/10) generous portion w meat and rice, gravy is awesome Went right before a concert and it was really crowded. said the wait was ~20 min but got sat in 10min and was really hungry. Wait staff is awesome and so nice- apologized for the wait and quickly gave us water. got our order taken in about 5 min and then came out pretty fast given the business- <10 min. Got the Very Strong Mai Tai and Loco Moco. waitress was very nice and warned that the drink is very strong which is what I was looking for! Loco moco is so awesome. The gravy is flavorful but not too salty I could eat a whole bowl with the meal. and this portion was generous for the price!! caramalized onions, fried rice, and eggs were great. one of my eggs were not runny but that was okay because it was just so awesome. wish the rice was a little more flavorful/fried and that the gravy had more depth in flavor. but beef pattys were juicy! My friends got the Kahlua Pig (9/10-wish there was more sauce) and the Spicy Garlic Saiman Noodle Soup (8/10-generous w meat)
Wow. I had no idea that on a trip to Chicago i would go to a Hawaiian restaurant twice!! There food is absolutely delicious and the portion sizes are huge! Their cocktails are also so delicious and strong! Forget the deep dish pizza and eat here! You won't regret it!
We went here last week and the place was fantastic! It's a total hidden gem. Food was great with generous portions, a large vegan menu for my wife to enjoy plenty of options and great drinks with an inviting atmosphere. I recommend this place for anyone in the area or just visiting to check out.
